bowl/plate after each use. Save the solid color plate or bowl for another use, just
replace the clear plastic.
Some themes like
Clifford the Big Red Dog Table Cover will have a design that will fit 10 1/14" plates. If the design
size permits, cut out the figure instead of using the circle pattern. For template designs
use the interior circle of the plate or bowl Children can make
their own plates, but you can also use your imagination for many other things. Leaves or
small flowers would be interesting and fun for children. Fabric to match your
décor. Logos from your company or school. Graduation or wedding
announcements. Photo of the guest of honor or the birthday child's picture. Take a
picture of each child at the party and let each one make their own special plate to take
home. The ideas are endless.
DESIGN A CUP
1. Using white glue and stickers, confetti or other small
designs decorate the outside of a
solid
color cup
2. Place a few of the smaller pieces confetti in the bottom of the
clear plastic cup.
3. Slide the into the clear cup, making sure they fit snugly.
4. Slide the solid color cup out of the clear cup and apply a thin line of white craft glue right on the
top line of the clear cup.
5. Carefully slide the solid cup back into the
clear cup.
6. Let dry.
7. Send home with each guest as a party favor.
8. Make sure you carefully rinse out only the inside of the cup after each use.
Your imagination is the
only limitation to customizing your next party or gathering! Use assorted party
goods to create designs that are fun, unique and easy to make.
For special occasions,
such as...print out photos from your computer, or color copy
them. Use them for plate inserts or create small collages with photo stickers that
you can have made at your local photo lab. If you have a digital camera, you can
take picture at the party, print them out on your computer, and send home extra special
favors.
It's a card! You
may want to put a trading card within your plate creation for an added favor. Serve
the birthday cake on the plate and when they finish they see the surprise!
You can cut out
characters from cereal boxes, toy boxes, magazines and books to use as plate
inserts. Coloring book pictures make great plate inserts because it gives the added
fun of kids coloring and creating their own one-of-a-kind plate.
Recycle your old greeting
cards, invitations and thank you notes into plate inserts by centering a circle over the
main design. Use the extra invitations after you've sent them out to your guests,
use wrapping paper left after wrapping the gifts, order extra thank you notes that match
your party theme and put a thank you for attending our party in the plate to your guest.
Leaves, feathers and
pressed flowers can create some interesting plate insert designs, If you have a
nature themed party, you can take a nature walk, as a activity, and then use the things
you gathered to create plate, bowl and cup designs.
By using photos, comic book pictures, drawings,
child created art work, or even make it a contest at the party to have the guests
create/draw their own Superhero.
The following instructions are given for Blue
Clues but you can use any party theme you like. Blue's Clues kids are usually preschool age
(2-5). You should keep your party short and simple. 1 to 1 1/2 hours should be about
right. Choose simple activities such as a mystery hunt, coloring, dancing to music and
sing along.
