Football Party Ideas

You won’t have to wait for the Super Bowl to experience the thrill this football party is sure create! This party fun takes to the Gridiron! We’ve gathered many ideas you’ll need to decorate and celebrate stadium style, and to guarantee field goal action for everyone! Decorating for this football party can be fairly simple, because typically this party can be held at a football stadium parking lot or field, backyard, den, family room, sports bar or maybe a gym and the focus will be on the game. Try to greet guests with a festive welcome, and create over-the-top football tables for eating, and for food and gift display!

Use a Football Yard Sign to mark the party site!

Line a walkway with red Shimmer Stars, writing each team members name on a star. Tape the stars with masking or duct tape to the sidewalk, walkway or exterior walls leading to the site of the party. The stars can also be used on the food table and as place cards.

Attach a bouquet of helium filled Balloons to a light post or mailbox so there will be no mistaking where the fun will be that day!

Football Theme Indoor Decorations

Start your decorating with Team colors. Put together an ensemble which contains balloons, streamers, curling ribbon, a cascading centerpiece, pennant cutouts, molded football candles, and even a Football Piñata to match your theme!

Use Mylar Football /Sports Balloons - Tie a bunch of helium filled balloons to the centerpiece, goal posts, or ties one balloon to the back of each chair.

If your party is indoors, or if you are eating in a separate room, streamers offer an economical way to splash lots of team color around the site of the party. Create a fun and colorful effect by draping printed streamers from the center of the ceiling to the walls on each side of the room. The streamers can be twisted after they are anchored to a ceiling wall or table for a more dimensional look. They also look terrific hanging from doorframes or cascading vertically down walls.

Homemade Chex mix fills the bill - it's quick to put together and always gets rave reviews. Original Chex Party Mix has been a part of celebrations for years. For a change of taste, try this sugar and spice variation, it is sure to be a welcome addition to any party.

Sugar 'n Spice Snack

Prep time: 15 minutes
Start to finish: 2 hours, 5 minutes
Makes: 21 servings (1/2 cup each)

Ingredients:
2 cups Corn Chex cereal
2 cups Rice Chex cereal
2 cups Apple Cinnamon Cheerios cereal
3 cups dry-roasted peanuts
2 egg whites
2 tablespoons orange juice or water
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Preparation directions:

1. Heat oven to 300 F. Spray with cooking spray or grease 15x10x1-inch pan.
2. In very large bowl, mix cereals, corn snacks and peanuts. In small bowl, beat egg whites, orange juice, sugar and cinnamon, using wire whisk or hand beater, until foamy. Pour over cereal mixture, stirring until evenly coated. Spread in pan.
3. Bake 45 to 50 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes, until light brown and crisp. Cook completely, about 1 hour. Store in airtight container.

Recipe tip: The baked-on egg white and sugar mixture creates a unique crispy coating on the cereals.
