Ghosts, goblins, apple
cider and Trick or Treat. Halloween is a perfect part night for children
of all ages. Here are some ideas for an Adult party.
Creating the right Halloween atmosphere is easy.

Carve out numerous small pumpkins and place around
the living room or family room.

Carve out one large pumpkin for a centerpiece on
your serving table.

Orange and black balloons can provide even more
of the right spirit.

Keep lights turned down to a minimum, allowing for
a mrfoe "sinister" effect.

a treat.
Ask everyon to join in the fun by wearing costume and
maks of their own creation.
Mummy Wrap
Divide your guests into
two teams and give each team a roll of toilet paper or white crepe
streamers. Each team chooses one person to be the mummy. When you
say go, each team must wrap the mummy from head to toe. The team who
finishes first wins.
ENTERTAINMENT
First and foremost for your entertainment are prizes
for best costume. Novelty gifts are the most fun. If your guests
have common interests, gifts can be more personalized. If not, try
some of these ideas.

If you are really in the spirit of tings, revert for
a while to yourchildhood: bob of apples, play pin the stem on the
pumpkin, have a dart throwing contest with a prize for each winner.
HALLOWEEN PARTY MENU
Plan a Halloween paryt as an after-dinner event.
That way everyone can be at home for the younger celebrater's Trick
or Treat trips. Start with two beverage servings per guest and
enough ingredients on hand for anohter serving if needed. Have an
extra supply of the easiest to serve nibbles to refill bowl
throughout the evening.
HALLOWEEN BEVERAGE
Concoct a Witches Brew with apple cider and
cranberry juice or grenadine for color. Vodka may be added, if you
wish. Hot spiced wine is good, too. Just for fun, use a big kettle
or roasting pan as a punch bowl.
HALLOWEEN NIBBLES
The nibbles can be simple but you should have
aminimum of three or four different items. Any of the following
would do nicely:
Candied apples on a tray.
Popcorn - scatter big bowls throughout your home
Cupcakes or cookies decorated with Halloween designs
Peanuts or mixed nuts
Potatoe or Tortilla chi[ps
Halloween Trick or Treat candy
Popcorn-Peanut Balls
POPCORN PEANUT BALLS
4 qts. popped corn
1 1/2 cups salted peanuts
1 1/2 cups sugar
3/4 cup light molasses
1/4 cup water
2 tsp cider vinegar
1 tsp lemon extract
1/4 cup vegetable shortening
Place corn and peanuts in a very large mixing bowl;
stir to distribute peanuts. In heavy 2 quart saucepan, combine
sugar, molasses, water and vinegar. Cook over low heat, stirring
constantly, until candy thermometer reaches 270 to 280 degrees or
until a small quantity of syrup dropped into cold water is slightly
brittle; remove from heat. Stir in extract and shortening. Pour over
corn mixture, stirring well. Grease hands with shortening. Quickly
shape into 28, 2 1/2 inch wide balls.* Dig down into bottom of
bowl as peanuts have a tendency to drop. Place balls on sheets of
waxed paper, when cool wrap securely. Makes 28.
* If desired, shape half mixture into fourteen 2 1/2
inch balls and serve remainder from small bowls.
