Decorating Tip
Here is an easy way to decorate a store
bought or homemade kid's birthday cake. Purchase and extra mylar balloon that matches the theme of
your party. Cut out the design, spray the back with vegetable oil and place
on top of the cake. Rather than the traditional round birthday cake and
balloon try to get creative and cut the birthday cake to match the
shape of the mylar balloon.

Place new toy vehicles,
figurines or dolls on the cake and decorate the table
top to match. Also use a pinata as a centerpiece.

 Top cupcakes
with gummy candy to match the theme of the party. Frost
cupcakes in a round circle like a regular round cake and
decorate...when it comes time to serve you simply pluck
the cupcake out and put it on a plate. Easy serving!

Simple decorations, like paw
prints, to match the table decor can be used on the cake
top. Take a theme napkin or theme plate to your cake
decorator or baker to have them duplicate the design on the
cake.

Take a two layer round
cake...frost between the cakes. Cut the two round cakes
layers in half - set on
their sides, flat sides up, frost remainder of cake,
this will form the pirate ships. Trim with wafer straw
cookies. Use plastic
figures for pirates and candles for oars. Insert straws
with sails cut from paper and the pirate ship cakes are
ready to hoist the anchor and set sail.
