Prom Planning Questions
First of all, you should start by consulting your school advisor then forming a
prom committee and selecting a prom chairperson. Then answer a few basic questions about your
prom event. Your answers will help you get focused and point you in the right direction. You
should think through these questions at least four to six months before your scheduled
prom date. Divide the responsibilities among the members of your
prom committee. Meet at least once a month to get started and
more frequently as the prom approaches.
How formal a prom dance do we want?
Should the
prom be a black-tie affair, a dressy event,
a costume event, or a casual gathering?
What type of prom theme do we want to center the
prom around?
How many people do we think will attend the
prom?
How much money do we have to spend on prom?
Will we host
the prom at our school or another location?
Do we need to arrange a photographer or entertainment for the
prom?
How will we publicize the prom?
