SURVIVOR PARTY
IDEAS
Close your eyes and imagine being
stranded on this lush tropical island...with the sun on your face, the wind in your hair,
refreshing waterfalls, crystal clear lagoons, the call of exotic birds...and the sound of
chanting natives and drumbeats far in the distance. Sounds like a place you wouldn't want
to leave, right? Well, this island is not a friendly island! It's inhabited by cannibals
and danger...and your mission is to find a way to survive until help arrives.
As your guests
arrive, light their way to your island with these
Silk Flower Lights or
Floral Tropical Torch and greet each person with a
Tropical Flower Leis. Your island guests begin their
adventure with a clue, which contains a test they must pass before going on to the next
clue. The ultimate goal is to find the
Treasure Chest filled with
Gold Coins they can use to reflect the sunlight to signal a rescue
party. Once your guests have arrived and been greeted, the "Island
Leader" will give them a clue to get their journey started. Once they
complete the task provided in the clue the "Island Leader" will give
them the next one, until the
Treasure Chest Pinata has been opened.
Your deserted island
can easily be transformed by hanging
Tropical Lights and
Tropical Parasols. Drape
Natural Fish Netting for a nautical look. You can hang
Assorted Plastic Fish in the fish netting and
Tiki Lantern Garland, along with the
Paradise Lanterns. Place
Flamingo Balloons around the room. Don't forget to place
Inflatable Palm Trees and
Pineapple Candles around the room and outside. Never underestimate the power of
decorating with
Flip Flop Balloons,
as they can transform any room into a festive space in minutes at a very low cost.
Make sure the "Island
Leader" has the proper dress
Adult Flower Lei Set with
Flower Trimmed Beach Hat ,
Green Hula Skirt and
Flower Bikini Topp or
Tropical Bandanas.
Welcome to this small paradise
island. You will remain here until a rescue party comes for you. They have discovered your
are missing and are out searching for you at this moment. However, until they arrive your
survival depends upon your endurance and your ability to follow directions. You are in
search of a special treasure chest with gold to help you reflect sunlight to signal your
rescue party should they come close to this island. Your first test is to make appropriate
clothing to wear on this island.
The object is for each child to make
his/her very own grass skirt....yes, even the boys (and don't forget to take pictures,
they will want these later in life)!
Have lengths of string and strips of
laying in a pile. You can prepare these ahead of time by cutting
string in lengths big enough to go around your guests' waists, leaving enough left over to
tie. Cut the crepe streamers long enough so that your guests can fold them in half over
the string to make a skirt. You can add to you guests' attire by providing each one with a
Green Leaf Leis or
Silk Flower Headband
Welcome Islanders! You have followed
instructions well, and I'm sure you will reach your destination. But first, you must
undergo a test of endurance which you must not fail. Make your way to the Waterfall
or use this
Beach Scene Setter
Tropical Garland to a tree so that they hang down and give the effect of a waterfall.
Place a bag of marbles in a tin tub.
You may need several tubs if you have a large group. Fill half way with water and then
fill with ice cubes. The object is to see how many marbles your guests can remove using
only their feet.t.
You all pass the test of
endurance...but can you pass the test of strength? Proceed to ground that is dried and
hard from volcanic rock (a place where there is cement). Now you must pass the test of
strength.
The object is to knock over bowling
pins using a real coconut instead of a bowling ball. To get the bowling pins, you can
purchase a plastic bowling game or simply make your own by pouring a small amount of water
into 2-litre bottles.
You must be hungry from your journey
so far. You must find the hunting grounds and search for the hut where the food is stored.
(This will be inside or out, wherever you have set up the food.) It is time to relax and
get some relief from your long journey.
Tiki Leave Bowls or
Palm Tree Trays. Serve your gests lava juice in their very own
Tiki Goblet. Decorate the table with a
Coconut Band or
Tiki Pinata and if you make a buffet table, place this
Light Up Table Skirt around it for an island look. Now for some menu suggestions!
Rumors are the cannibals know you
are near. They have started a campfire...and the campfire just might be their cooking pot!
But wait...I think I hear their drumbeats in the distance. Quickly, we must go to the next
challenge of endurance. You must journey to the Scaramunga village where its inhabitants
will teach you a new celebration dance.
Have a
Bamboo Limbo Kit set up. This will be
the last test before the treasure chest is found. Whoever limbos the lowest will be the
first person to try and break the treasure chest. Don't for get the
Hula Party Music to set the mood.
Congratulations! You
are almost at the end of your search for the lost treasure. You are very
close now. Your treasure will be found at the_________________________.
You will need to fill this part in.
The
treasure is the
Treasure Chest Pinata or
Tiki Pinata filled with bags of
Gold Coins,
Treasure Toys and
Candy Assortment. Keep out of sight until the end and then placed somewhere where
your guests must find it. Let the winner of the limbo have first swing at it (blindfolded
of course) and proceed with each child until someone breaks it open.
